Making A Pitched Roof

After you decide to build a pitched roof you can layout and cut a rafter pattern.

This is part two of the porch build where i am doing the roof. Step 2 trace out and cut all remaining rafters. Lay a framing square flat. Building your roof deck on your sloped roof.

Firstly each rafter should be placed on the front and rear wall plates making sure it is pushed up tight against the rear wall. Step 5 add. Step 1 layout the pattern rafter. Step 4 install roof rafters.

I show how i construct it showning in detail how to do the lead flashing. Mark a vertical line parallel with the wall in blue on the rafter and then cut along this line. Now you have to cut four 2 6 lumbers to 1 foot length for the sill plates which would act as supporting bases.
